Who are we?
WSOE is a non-commercial student run radio station that plays college rock. We fancy ourselves the only alternative. We’re big on local music and allowing DJs the creative freedom to put together shows that serve up good tunes and push limits. WSOE plays 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our show genres include talk radio, rock, metal, indie, techno, college rock, rap, and sports. When DJs are not in the booth our automation system plays college rock from 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. and jazz from 6-10 a.m. You can tune in at WSOE 89.3 FM or listen to our webcast at http://www.wsoe893.com.
Our humble goals
First, we want to continue offering students and faculty a place where they can express themselves on air and share their passion for music with the Elon community. Our second (and equally important) mission is to promote local musicians and that fantastic local music scene North Carolina has to offer.

WSOE (Wonderful Sounds of Elon) was founded in 1977 and broadcasts ten miles outside of Elon. Our format is freeform alternative rock and new DJs are required to host a college rock show for a semester before they can apply for a specialty show. We usually hold a general staff meeting the first Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m where we serve pizza and talk shop.
